The Illinois Raptor Center is a 15 acre facility along the Sangamon River in Decatur, Illinois. The facility includes the main building that houses hospital and offices, an equipment shop, an educational pavillion, 1 large barn, 1 work and storage shed, 2 large wooden flights, 1 small wooden flight, 4 triple unit steel sided mews (12 cages), 7 double unit steel sided mews (14 cages), 4 single unit eagle steel sided mews, 1 triple unit steel sided songbird aviary, 3 wooded mews and 2 pigeon lofts. As large as this looks and sounds, some years the number of animals admitted can outnumber the cages available.
